South Beach, Blyth is a lovely sandy beach that stretches from the Port of Blyth for miles. The designated bathing beach, which is backed by a promenade, is approximately one kilometre in length and is at the northern end of a four kilometre bay. Dogs are not allowed on the middle part of the beach from 1st May to 30th September. There is free parking near the band stand and several cafes where visitors can purchase food and drinks. The beach is a great place for a short walk and offers easy access for all. On a sunny day, the beach attracts a lot of people. There are plenty of places to buy ice creams and coffee, and locals are known to be friendly.
